Methodology and Internships

Methodology and Internships Nebrija Institute for Vocational Training

Methodology: Learning by doing

Methodology based on the acquisition of competences and development of skills through project development and problem solving.

The student will acquire the knowledge of the Advanced Programs, which are focused on and extend to the real world. The students' two main factors to achieve maximum development thanks to active methodologies in education are motivation and participation.

During the year, students will acquire knowledge and put it into practice as their learning evolves, carrying out coordinated and multidisciplinary group work, case resolution and overcoming problems (Simulation), and carrying out projects based on the real world and the challenges it poses.

Distinctive features of the online modality

The objective of the Nebrija Institute for Vocational Training is for students to be able to efficiently combine their official advanced vocational training studies with any other activity, personal or professional. To do this, we offer a flexible methodology that, through modular calendars, allows you to study at the pace required by each student.

Live classes, recorded classes, complementary material, exercises, evaluations, 100% of the contents are available to the student through the virtual platform, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has never been this easy to study VT remotely.

In addition, the Nebrija Institute for Vocational Training makes available to students both individual online tutoring and voluntary face-to-face group tutoring at the headquarters of the Institute for Vocational Training, in the center of Madrid.

Some examples

Curricular projects

Within the modules, each objective will be treated as a project so that the student not only acquires the required knowledge, but also puts it into practice. Supported by teachers and specific material, the student will perform and face different challenges that will incrementally cover the objectives set for the module.

Intermodular activities

For a greater development of the student's competences, concepts learned in different modules will be interconnected in order to approach the professional challenges in which they will find themselves in the working world. Carrying out projects that merge or chain the topics seen in several of the modules that are studied.

Integrative Project

The student will carry out, in the first year, a project related to their advanced program, applying all the knowledge acquired throughout the academic year, not only proving the theoretical knowledge acquired, but also putting it into practice in a real case of certain complexity and adapted to the professional world.

Workshops

During the module, the students will carry out specific workshops for the development of the objectives set in the program modules themselves, as well as other competences associated with the professional or sociocultural world that they will face at the end of their training.

Conferences

The students' ability to solve problems or find solutions is an important point for their personal and professional development. Students will conduct research on a topic of their interest related to the acquisition of competences for the degree. Then, they will present and defend it in a conference with their classmates and teachers

Work Center Training

It consists of carrying out a period of face-to-face internships in companies, which is mandatory during the second year of the training program.

These internships in the collaborating companies do not imply a labor relationship with the students in training. The student will not receive any remuneration for their training activity or for the results that may derive from it.

The Nebrija Institute for Vocational Training has collaboration agreements with the most representative companies and organizations in each sector in order to be able to offer the student this module of Work Center Training.

The objectives pursued are:

  • Complete the acquisition of professional competences that are specific to each degree achieved in the educational center.
  • Acquire a motivating professional identity and maturity for lifelong learning and for adaptations to changes in qualification needs.
  • Complete knowledge related to production, marketing, economic management and the social and labor relations system of companies, in order to facilitate their employment.
  • Assess the most relevant aspects of the professionalism achieved by the student in the educational center, and accredit the aspects required in the job that cannot be verified since they require real work situations.

The duration of the internship period of the training programs taught by the Nebrija Institute for Vocational Training is 370 hours.

The schedule will be between 7h and 22h hours, depending on the working day of the company. (Should not exceed 8 hours/day).

It will be carried out from the end of March to the end of June on a regular basis, and from October to December for students who pass in June (in another extraordinary period, with prior authorization from the Provincial Directorate of Education).

In general, the daily stay of the student in the work center will be similar to the ordinary working day of the collaborating company, not exceeding the limit established by labor regulations. The days set in the official calendar of labor holidays of the locality in which the module is carried out will be considered non-working days.

Students will have the option of carrying out these internships abroad thanks to the Erasmus+ scholarships.
